I’ve showcased some of the recent highlights from my journalistic career below (particularly from Vice and Boing Boing)—I’ve worked as a journalist off and on for most of my life, and have had the privilege to call the world’s attention to many of the injustices that continually occur just below the surface of our hypnotized world, and break some shocking stories (I was, for instance, the first journalist to widely report on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which became a central issue in the 2016 Presidential race). I’ve also written quite a lot about technology and pop culture. Check out some of my work below!
I’ve covered the dark side of technology and globalization for VICE News and Motherboard, breaking multiple stories of critical national and geopolitical importance. Here’s some of my best pieces:
From Boing Boing:
Here’s a few profiles of outlaw thinkers and spiritual figures. I’m quite proud of these articles.
I’ve done a lot of reporting on the Oculus Rift and virtual reality, in particular this article for Boing Boing:
I really like tabletop role-playing games and think that they’re a great alternative to digital alienation and also a fun way to spark creativity and lateral thinking in kids and adults. I’ve written four articles on Dungeons and Dragons for Boing Boing:
The Truth About the Dungeon Master That Disappeared in the Steam Tunnels (About James Dallas Egbert III, the gay teenager whose death helped spark the Satanic Panic)
Reviews of the new edition of D&D:
